Service Coordinators on Parade!!
Remember in 2008 at the National Service Coordinator Conference in Washington, DC when George and Martha Washington made an appearance at the Monday night reception?
And last year in Chicago, it was the Blues Brothers in who showed up.
Well this year, in California, you are the Stars!
Show us your colors in the Service Coordinators on Parade at this year’s National Service Coordinator Conference Monday night reception. Select your attire for the evening based on one of the following themes:
- Beach Theme (no bikinis or thongs, please)
- Hippie Theme (can’t wait to see those bellbottoms and tye dye tee-shirts again)
- Hollywood Theme (for the true divas in the group)
We know that many of you work for the same parent or management company. Or maybe you get together with a local networking group and many are attending Conference. And of course, there are 7 state Chapters of AASC. So at your next meeting, pool your collective creativity into making the Monday night reception an event to remember. Pick a theme and encourage all your colleagues to join the fun. Then gather together to walk in the Parade.
Groups and individuals will Show their Colors as we parade through the exhibit hall. Prizes will be given for the best individual and the best group representation of the theme.
Check out our Facebook page to see who is coming and which theme they have chosen.
Leaving Lasting Impressions...
Community Building
The quick chat in the hallway and the whispered commentary
during a workshop all help to build shared experiences that
are incredibly powerful. Once you've shared a few meals or
a few jokes with someone, you're fast friends. If you need
them to answer some questions over email or vice versa,
you're quick to come to one another's aid.
The service coordinator community thrives on these kinds
of connections. This year we have created The Meeting
Spot at the National Conference to help attendees network
with peers and share real-life experiences face-to-face. In
addition we are bringing back the JOT Social Networking
system to help attendees connect before, during, and after
the conference.
The JOT Social Networking site will open about a month before the conference.
Attendees can build their own profiles with areas of interest to make it easier for
networking onsite. Be sure to visit the site when it opens to see who shares your
interests.
On Sunday, from 6:00-7:00 pm attendees are invited to visit the Meeting Spot for
a Meet & Greet hour. Tuesday afternoon, from 5:00-6:00 pm we have set aside
some time for Round Table Networking at the Meeting Spot.
Be sure to visit the conference website for some tips to help you network more
effectively. We look forward to seeing you in Anaheim, CA!
